Waikīkī occurs as front yard of Honolulu, in the City & County of Honolulu, on the south shore of the Island of O‘ahu, Hawai‘i. Waikīkī extends from either the Ala Wai Canal (a channel dug to drain previous wetlands) on the west & northerly, to Diamond Head or Leahi on the east. Waione thousandīkī Beach is the shoreline fronting Waikīkī & one of a better known beaches in the world. A beach has experienced its problems because of groynes built out from either a shore. This has led to beach renewal projects it used to be that. In the Twenties & Thirties sand was found from either Manhattan Beach, California and transported via ship and lighter to Waikiki (source?). 1 calamitous sand refilling design exposed the human-semisynthetic sand that the gentle breakers turned into a concrete-rather surface.
Waikiki is also the suburb of Perth, Western Australia.
